Why Sobyanin canceled honey fair
The administrative documents on the preparation and holding of honey fairs in Moscow were prepared by Yury Luzhkov on February 13, 2004 at the suggestion of the Russian National Union of Beekeepers. The former mayor provided the best exhibition sites of the capital for these purposes on favorable terms. RNSP provided the means for holding annual fairs, while the Moscow authorities took over the coordination of their work and informed the public about the event.
Aleksey Nemeryuk, who is the head of the department of services and trade of the capital, said that the decision to cancel the honey fairs in Tsaritsyno and Manezh was due to objective reasons. The fact is that a completely new concept has been developed for the Manezh Central Exhibition Hall, which was prepared by the Moscow Department of Culture. Fair events in this regard are not provided. The center will become informational, educational, and cultural, and trade will not fit these areas.
Supervise the execution of the order Sergei Sobyanin should his deputy for economic policy Andrei Sharonov. In order to relieve Tsaritsyn transport interchange, the marketplace will be converted into a guest parking. Various fairs created certain inconveniences for the implementation of these plans.
But Moscow will not be left without bee products, the traditions of holding honey fairs will definitely continue. It is planned to arrange them in the Kolomenskoye Museum-Preserve, it is there that until September 23, they are already selling bee products. More than fifty varieties of honey are presented at this fair.
There is a free bus from the Kolomenskoye metro station, discounts for products are provided to pensioners and veterans. On the RNP website you can always find information about the next fair. The next one will be held at the Crocus Expo IEC from September 15 to October 9, and honey weeks are planned for 2013.
