"Despite" how to spell?

Many people have trouble writing "notwithstanding." Very often we think about how to write correctly - separately or together. It all depends on the context in which you use the combination.

Now more about "despite." How do you spell the combination of these words correctly? If "in spite of" is a preposition, then it is written together, and if the participle, then "in spite of" is written separately with "not."

This can be understood more easily. If you mean this phrase in the literal sense, it is written separately, and if figuratively, then together. For example: "despite fatigue, I went further" - it is written together (here "despite" - a preposition), and "in spite of dad, the daughter went into the room" - separately (here - "in spite of" - verbal participation).

Carefully follow the context and then you can choose the correct spelling.
