In 1900, a Japanese man named Kokochi Mikimoto patented a method for the production of cultured pearls. He has been working on these studies for 20 years. His way turned out to be more cruel than natural. By deception, pearl oysters were forced to relax, for this they were lowered into warm water. At the time of opening the shell did a puncture in its reproductive organs. Next was placed inside the seed, it was a bead and a plate made of parts of the oyster. Within three months, poor pearl oyster emerged from a stressful situation, while producing pearl. Not all shells remained alive after that.
